#GreenLight initiative for refugees

Over the past weeks, the numbers of refugees stuck at the Polish-Belarusian border have grown from a few to several thousand. This is the result of Belarus’ geopolitics and Poland’s policy of stopping and returning undocumented migrants and refugees to their home countries. For the people fleeing, Europe starts in these countries, however applying for asylum is made impossible.

However, new acquaintances, friends, and colleagues can help refugees find their way in a new neighborhood or at their new job. A humane migration policy

Human rights, the Rotterdam way

On this Human Rights Day, the two refugees were welcomed by Rotterdammers who want to fight for their human rights and for a good start of their new future in Rotterdam.

A growing friendship

As a remedial educationalist, Rotterdam-based Sanne Vink works with children and adolescents in need of treatment and a listening ear. Her relationship with the children of Anis and Houda Abdulmajid from Syria is different. The families, both part of the Samen Hier Group ‘Together Groos’, share their family lives with each other.
