Impact report: a bigger network and new friends thanks to the Samen Hier student community

In 2021 we set up the Samen Hier student community in collaboration with UNICEF Student Team The Hague (USTTH). This was initially done to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation under (international) students and students with a refugee background during and after the COVID-19 lockdowns. During the second edition, in 2022, the focus of the community shifted to finding connection when you’re new somewhere.

This light art festival 'The Hague Highlights' told stories of the rich history of the Hague, using light and projection on well-known locations in The Hague. Justice & Peace and our initiative Samen Hier participated with the artwork installation 'Voyage-Safe Haven'.

Victor Scheffers, former director of Justice & Peace passed away

We are saddened to learn of the death of Victor Scheffers. From 1983 to 2014, as director of Justice & Peace and secretary of the Justitia et Pax Commission, he worked tirelessly and with a passion for human rights and social justice.

Martin Luther King Lecture 2022

On the 7th of December at 19:30, just before International Human Rights Day, the yearly Martin Luther King lecture will be held. The theme is ‘Civil Disobedience’. Inspired by Martin Luther King, we investigate the necessity of civil disobedience and the many inspiring shapes it may take, then and now.
