We are excited to invite you to the online opening of the Shelter City Zwolle 2021 photo exhibition on Thursday, May 27 from 19:00-21:00 via Zoom.
Shelter City Zwolle started in 2017 in collaboration with Justice & Peace Netherlands as a concrete and accessible way to support the cause of human rights defenders at risk. Shelter City Zwolle is being executed by students from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences and Windesheim Honours College. Zwolle is now hosting its third guest with the arrival of Sohail, a human rights defender from Pakistan.
During the online opening, Alderman Dorrit de Jong from Zwolle and Dutch Ambassador for Human Rights Bahia Tahzib-Lie will kick off the webinar. Followed by the human rights defenders who are currently staying in Zwolle and Utrecht, David and Sohail.
The five portraits in this exhibition are made by Dutch photographer Daniella van Bergen. With her photography, Daniella gives a voice to the human stories. Daniella has worked with Justice & Peace for many years taking portraits of human rights defenders in Shelter City. To read more about Daniella and see her work, click here.
