Luckily, there are many digital options available to communicate and do activities together! To inspire you, we have collected some fun and creative tips from the Samen Hier community on how to stay in touch with each other digitally!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section sectie-titel-2\">\n<div class=\"section-wrapper\"><span id=\"sectie-titel-2\" class=\"anchor\"><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"column-wrapper column-row fullwidth\">\n<div class=\"column content\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Another platform for each day of the week?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the digital world we\u2019re living in, there are countless great programs available for online communication. Which one is your favourite?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Whatsapp<\/li>\n<li>Facetime<\/li>\n<li>Jitsi Meet<\/li>\n<li>Skype<\/li>\n<li>Houseparty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Samen Hier tip<\/em><\/strong><em>: The Justice and Peace team celebrates birthdays of team members on Skype now!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section sectie-titel-3\">\n<div class=\"section-wrapper\"><span id=\"sectie-titel-3\" class=\"anchor\"><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"column-wrapper column-row fullwidth\">\n<div class=\"column content\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Breakfast, coffee, lunch, and diner<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each meal or coffee break, is an opportunity for a digital get together!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To start simple: It\u2019s beneficial to agree upon a standard time each day or week to meet online, preferably also using a webcam. Our team drinks coffee together each morning, and being able to see and hear each other, is a great start to our day! Moreover, this gives all of us extra structure and is an incentive to get up early!<\/li>\n<li>Cooking and eating together is also viable online. Pick a nice recipe, give each other tips on seasoning, and enjoy your home cooked meals! Moreover, selecting a long and challenging recipe is a rewarding way to spend any extra time you might have now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Welcome group tip<\/em><\/strong>: <em>Last week, Coen and Joke from the Zuiderstrand Welcome Group went over to Mahdi and Parvaneh to bring them a self-baked cake. A great opportunity to socialise (from an appropriate distance) and to express your fondness for each other. But having a social network with whom you can speak and practice that new language, is a great benefit and significantly helps the learning process. It thus makes sense that matched Welcome Groups and newcomers often practice Dutch.<\/p>\n<p>It might seem difficult at first, but there are a lot of options when it comes to language training from a distance. You can agree upon sending each other a weekly letter in which you tell about your day, how you are feeling, about your hobbies, or about your job: the sky is the limit!<\/li>\n<li>We mentioned the importance of a standard time for video calling before. This of course also applies for language training sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Welcome Group tip: <\/strong>Most of our Welcome Groups primarily use WhatsApp for language training.
