This day serves as a poignant reminder of the pervasiveness of this global issue and demands collective action and support for survivors and advocates.<\/p>\n<p>In amplifying the voices of those dedicated to dismantling the structures that perpetuate gender-based discrimination, we invite you to delve into the work of five human rights defenders. Recognising the complex web of social identities and experiences, it is important to underscore the critical role of intersecting factors that shape the unique challenges faced by women across diverse backgrounds. Recounting her experience as a human rights defender, she draws attention to the vulnerabilities women face in times of war and environmental stress.
