With the support of the National Postcode Lottery and its participants these last 3 years, together with our partners, we have been able to welcome over 60 human rights defenders from all corners of the world to Shelter Cities across the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Through Shelter City, the human rights defenders have been able to rest, re-energise, receive tailormade support, and engage with allies. The different types of training offered have strengthened and enhanced their capacities together with the wellbeing activities which have prepared them for their return to their home countries. The human rights defenders also had the opportunity to meet and connect with local allies in the Netherlands through a variety of events that were held.<\/p>\n

We believe that human rights defenders are change makers and contribute to the defence of universal rights and freedoms that are the essence of a just, inclusive, and more sustainable world. With the support of people in the Netherlands, we hope to continue to offer safe and inspiring spaces to human rights defenders at risk.<\/p>\n

With this video, we would like to take the opportunity to thank the National Postcode Lottery and its participants for the tremendous support and for making everything we\u2019ve done to date a possibility. Shelter City would not be where it is today without your active commitment.<\/p>\n
